Blues select Maddox Dagenais in 1st round of NHL Draft

(Buffalo, NY) -- Centre Maddox Dagenais (Blainville, QC) was chosen 16th overall by the St. Louis Blues the 2026 NHL Entry Draft held in Buffalo, NY.
The 6-4, 198 lbs. forward scored 30 goals and added 32 assists in 62 games this past season with the Quebec Remparts of the QMJHL.
He also won the Mike Bossy Award as the Top NHL Prospect for the 2025-26 season.
Injured and absent for 21 games in his rookie season, Dagenais took off this season, racking up 62 points in as many games, ranking 34th in QMJHL scoring.
Maddox played his minor hockey for the Kingston Jr. Gaels and Quinte Red Devils before being the 1st overall selection in the 2024 QMJHL Draft. His father, Pierre, was also the 1st overall draft pick in the 1995 QMJHL Draft making them the first father-son combination to be selected first overall.
