Chrona makes NHL debut with Sharks

(San Jose, CA) -- Goaltender Magnus Chrona (Taby, Sweden) made his NHL debut with the San Jose Sharks on November 4th when he faced the Pittsburgh Penguins.

Chrona, 23, was called up by the Sharks from their AHL affiliate the San Jose Barracuda the day prior.


He is in his first professional season after a prestigious four-year career at the University of Denver which culminated in an NCAA Championship in 2022.


The 6'4", 194 lb. goalie was originally selected in the 5th round of the 2018 NHL Entry Draft by the Tampa Bay Lightning.


He grew up playing in the AIK and Nacka programs in Sweden.
