Eight clients at World Junior Tournament

(Edmonton, AB) -- Eight M&T clients are taking part in the 2022 IIHF World Junior Hockey Championships being held in Edmonton - Red Deer this week.



Team Sweden features Ludvig Jansson (Sodertalje, Sweden) who was recently selected by the Florida Panthers in the 4th round of the NHL Draft. The 6-0, 176 lbs. defenseman played in the pro Allsvenskan League last year playing 47 games.


Defenseman David Reinbacher (Hohenhems, AUT) plus one additional NCAA eligible athlete will suit up for the Austrian team. Reinbacher is a 2023 NHL prospect who will be playing for Kloten in the Swiss National League.


Team Switzerland will feature three clients: forwards Jonas Taibel (Rapperswil, SUI) and Kevin Nicolet (Lentigny, SUI), and defenseman Maximilian Streule (Zurich, SUI).


Taibel will return for a second season with the Moncton Wildcats (QMJHL) after being drafted in the 1st round of the 2021 CHL Import Draft. Nicolet will play this season for Linkoping in the Swedish J20 league, while Streule is returning to the Winnipeg Ice of the WHL.


Team Germany has forwards Josh Samanski of Erding, GER and Justin Volek of Schwennigen, GER, both who are returnees to the German U20 team from last winter.


Samanski will be playing the coming season with the Straubing Tigers and Volek with the Augsberger Panther, both in the top tier DEL.
