Gibson and Mann named to CHL Top Prospects Game

(Guelph, ON) - Clients Andrew Gibson (Lasalle, ON) and Matteo Mann (Sackville, NB) have been selected to participate in the annual Kubota CHL/NHL Top Prospects game set for Langley, BC on January 25th, 2023.


Gibson, a 6-3, 198 lbs right-shot defenseman is currently in his rookie season with the Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds of the Ontario Hockey League. Gibson has 5 goals and 5 assists for 10 points in 29 games. He was the Hounds' 4th round selection in the 2021 OHL Priority Selection out of the Windsor AAA Zone program.


Mann, a 6-5, 223 lbs right-shot defenseman is his second season with the Chicoutimi Saguenéens of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League. In 10 games this season he has 3 assists. He was selected in the 3rd round of the 2020 QMJHL Entry Draft from the Moncton Flyers U18s.


Slated for January 25 at the Langley Events Centre, the 2023 Kubota CHL/NHL Top Prospects Game showcases the top 40 CHL players who are eligible for the 2023 NHL Draft from across the Western Hockey League, Ontario Hockey League, and Quebec Major Junior Hockey League. The 40 players were identified via a survey conducted with the NHL’s 32 teams.


In all, the 40 players count 19 from the WHL – headlined by 2023 NHL Draft favourite and North Vancouver, B.C., native Connor Bedard of the Regina Pats – as well as 15 players from the OHL and 6 from the QMJHL. Additionally, 32 CHL clubs are represented by at least one player, led by the Seattle Thunderbirds with 3, plus 6 other clubs with multiple representatives including the host Vancouver Giants counting left-winger Samuel Honzek, and centreman Jaden Lipinski.
