Hunter Jones extends with Minnesota Wild

(Minneapolis, MN) -- Minnesota Wild General Manager Bill Guerin today announced the National Hockey League (NHL) club has signed goaltender Hunter Jones to a contract extension through the 2023-24 season.



The 23-year old native of Brantford, Ontario played 38 games with the Wild's ECHL affiliate Iowa Heartlanders this past season. He sported a 3.07 GAA and a .905 SV% in his third year of his Entry Level Contract.


Jones, 19, played 121 games with the OHL Peterborough Petes having a 3.31 GAA and a .901 SV%. He sported a 62-47-4 regular season record with 7 career OHL shutouts.


He was selected by Minnesota in the 2nd round (59th overall) of the 2019 NHL Entry Draft and selected by the Petes in the 5th round of the 2016 OHL Priority Selection from the Mississauga Reps.
