Jansson signs NHL contract with Panthers

(Sunrise, FL) -- Defenseman Ludvig Jansson (Stockholm, SWE) has signed a three-year entry level contract with the Florida Panthers.

The 6.00, 181 lbs blueliner was the 4th round choice (125th overall) of the Florida Panthers in last July's 2022 NHL Entry Draft.


He was a member of the Swedish entry in the 2023 World Junior Championship that lost in OT to the United States in the bronze medal game.


At the WJC, Jansson scored 4 goals and 6 assists in 7 tournament games to lead his team in scoring.


This past season he played 50 games with Lulea HF of the SHL where he recorded 1 goal and 3 assists and 37 penalty minutes. Lulea won the Le Mat trophy as the champions of the Swedish Hockey League in 2024-2025.


Born in Stockholm, Sweden, Jansson grew up playing in the Flemingsbergs IK youth program before graduating to Sodertalje's J18 program at age 16.
