Leppänen breaks Liiga record for points by a defenseman

(Vaasa, FIN) -- Atro Leppanen (Mantaa, Finland) broke a long-standing Liiga record for most point by a defenseman with his 54th point in February. He was also named the Liiga Defenseman of the Month for January 2025 and is the first ever defenseman to lead the Liiga in scoring.

Leppanen was also named Liiga Most Valuable Player.

The 27 year old defenseman had 21 goals and 42 assists for 63 points through the regular season for his club team Vaasa Sport.
