Petersen captures league title and MVP honours

(Klagenfurt, AUT) -- Right winger Nick Petersen (Wakefield QC) and his Klagenfurt AC club captured their second straight Ice Hockey League championship this past week capturing the Karl Nedwed Trophy in five games over Bolzano.

The 6-2, 192 lb. Petersen was named the ICE Hockey League (ICEHL) Playoff MVP and led the post-season in scoring with 23 points in 15 games (10-13-23).

The 31-year old winger played three seasons in the QMJHL with the Shawinigan Cataractes and Saint John Sea Dogs before embarking on his pro career.

He was a 4th round selection of the Pittsburgh Penguins in 2009 and signed an entry level contract in 2010.

This was his eighth season in Europe, the last three with Klagenfurter AC after five years in the DEL.
