On the North American Skaters List in the first round at #32 is Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds defenseman Andrew Gibson (Lasalle, ON).
Gibson, a 6.03, 196 lb. blueliner, has 7 goals and 11 assists in 38 OHL games this season. He will be participating in the upcoming CHL Top Prospects game on January 25th in Langley, BC.
Gibson was the top-scoring 16-year old CJHL defenseman in 2021-22 with with the Soo Thunderbirds of the NOJHL. He recorded 21 goals and 30 assists for 51 points.
On the European Skaters List at #10 is EHC Kloten defenseman David Reinbacher (Hohenems, Austria).
Reinbacher is a 6.02, 187 lb. defenseman with 2 goals and 12 assists in 29 games - Swiss National League. He recently participated with his native Austria at the recent World Junior Hockey Championships in Halifax.
Reinbacher also played pro with EHC Kloten last season with 1 goal and 11 assists as a 16-year old.
The 2023 NHL Draft is scheduled for June 28th & 29th at Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, Tennessee.
