Reinbacher signs NHL entry level deal with Habs

(Brossard, PQ) -- The Montreal Canadiens have signed defenseman David Reinbacher (Hohenems, Austria) of Kloten to a 3-year Entry Level Contract contract.

Reinbacher was the 1st round, 5th overall selection by the Montreal Canadiens at the 2023 NHL Entry Draft last week in Nashville, TN.

The 6-2, 185 lbs. defenseman is coming off a very strong season with Kloten of the Swiss Men's pro team in the Swiss-A league.

Reinbacher had 3 goals and 19 assists in 46 regular season games this year. He also represented his native Austria at the 2023 World Junior Championships this past winter.

Montreal Canadiens general manager Kent Hughes announced on Wednesday that the team has agreed to terms on a three-year, entry-level contract with defenseman David Reinbacher (2023-24 to 2025-26).

Reinbacher becomes the highest selected Austrian-born defenseman in NHL history. He participated in the Canadiens development camp held at the Bell Sports Complex in Brossard from July 1-4.
